Ghost Bikes from Sam Scott-Hunter on Vimeo.
A ghost bike is a bicycle placed as a memorial where a cyclist has been killed by a motor vehicle, as a reminder to others to share the road.
A bicycle is painted white and then locked to a suitable object close to the scene of the crash.
Ghost bikes provide both a personal and a political statement. They originated in the states (the first was erected in Missouri in 2003) and are gradually becoming an international phenomenon.
